What do you need?

The list of ingredients is as follows:
  1. Activated Charcoal (also known as activated carbon)
  2. Bentonite Clay
  3. Neem Oil
  4. Apple Cider vinegar with the mother
  5. Water
Apart from this, you will need a mixing bowl, a face towel and a brush (or you could just use your fingers as I did, but trust me that's not as good as having a brush at hand).

Step-by-Step guide:

  1. Add 1.5 tsp of Bentonite clay to the mixing bowl
  2. Add 1/4th tsp of activated charcoal to the bentonite clay
  3. Now add 1 tsp Apple cider vinegar (if you have one with the mother vinegar you can surely use it, else use regular apple cider vinegar)
  4. Add 3 - 4 drops of neem oil (neem is also known as Indian Lilac or azadirachta indica and found easily in Indian stores if buying it outside India)
  5. Add 1.5-2 tsp water and mix all the above to a smooth paste. You can add a little more water as I did to adjust the consitsency to your liking
Application:

  • Apply the mask to your face, nose and neck taking care to ensure that you avoid the hair, beard (if any), and eyebrows.
  • Let it dry for about 20-25 minutes. By this time the mask should tighten up
Removal:

  • Since this is not the peel-off model as it doesn't include glue, it needs to be washed off.
  • Gently wash it off with a hot water sponge or towel
  • Once completely off rise face with water and finish up with some facial toner if required
  • Wipe your face with a fresh face towel and feel the goodness show up :)
If you intend to know more about the ingredients, then keep reading..

Activated Charcoal:
Charcoal comes from coal or wood or coconut shells or husk as well as other sources. Activated charcoal needs to be produced and is not found naturally. It gets activated when combined with hot gases at high temperatures. Activated charcoal binds toxins to it, which is why it works as a great ingredient in masks to cleans pores, to get rid of acne causing bacteria and to purify the skin.

Bentonite Clay:
Bentonite Clay is a special type of clay that gets electrically charged when water is added to it. With this property, it can absorb toxins and other impurities. This makes it a useful component in a face mask.

Neem Oil:
Neem has been used for thousands of years in Ayurveda and has special anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties that can fight skin diseased and cure acne. It removes dryness, pigmentation and helps fight skin ageing.

Apple Cider Vinegar:
Apple cider vinegar has natural astringent properties and can heal minor cuts or wounds. It can heal sunburn and restore the skins pH level.
