Best Hummus Recipe with Paprika - Easy & Healthy

There is nothing better than smooth creamy Hummus. Its one of those foods that is easy to make and also satiates you to every extent. Top this up with some Paprika to heat things and Voila, you have a dish that is healthy and also "ketogenic" certified :)

I shall take you through the steps of making a Paprika Hummus at home, with few ingredients. You will be able to dish this out in no time. This is an easy DIY Hummus recipe.


Ingredients:

You will need the following to make a reasonable sized snack portion for 2 -3 adults:

  • 15oz can of Chickpeas (aka Garbanzo beans) OR approximately 250 grams of cooked and de-skinned Chickpeas (minus the water)
  • 1/4th tsp of finely chopped garlic
  • 2-4 tbsp of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1-2 tbsp of Cold Pressed Organic Sesame Oil
  • 3 tbsp of Tahini paste
  • 1 tsp each of salt and paprika powder
  • 1/4th tsp each of finely ground black pepper powder and peri-peri powder
  • 1.5 - 2 tsp lemon juice
  • Dried thyme or rosemary



Procedure:

  • Add the chickpeas to a blender, followed by both the oils and the tahini paste
  • Blend to a smooth paste and add more oil as desired to reach the desired level of consistency
  • Add in the salt, paprika, black pepper, peri-peri and lemon juice and blend again
  • Dish out the hummus and serve with pita bread or lavash or veggies of your choice
  • Garnish with extra virgin olive oil, thyme or rosemary and a dash of paprika powder
